A fax came through this afternoon from a debt collection agency. They were offering their services to us to follow up on slow payers.
Scrawled at the top of the fax page was a handwritten “Thought you might be interested in this.”
There was a very difficult to read signature under that.
The Oldest Trick In The Book
That’s the oldest trick in the marketing book! You scrawl “Thought you might be interested in this” on the top of the page so the recipient thinks it comes from a friend. And thus, it’s more likely to be read.
Man, I’d be too embarrassed to use that old technique!
